|   Not to be outdone by distinguished competitor Game Informer's cover reveal of BioShock 2's Big Sister, GamePro has given us our first third-person look at the star of the sequel, the new Big Daddy. The July issue of the mag touts a deep dive into 2K Games' sequel to the original BioShock, offering "first *real* gameplay and story details," which would lead us to believe everything we've seen and heard about the game to be falsehoods and fabrications. |   May 21, 2009 - The State of California has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to review a ruling by the U.S Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, which in February struck down a state law preventing the sale and rental of "ultra-violent" video games to children. The rejected law was written by Senator Leland Yee (D-San Francisco/San Mateo), and the review of the Circuit Court's decision was requested by Attorney General Jerry Brown (D-Oakland) and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. North American PlayStation faithful should get their shot at the game today when the PlayStation Store update hits. inFamous is slated to ship to retail next week here in the States, giving you ample time to determine whether today's PlayStation Network demo has turned you into a fan.  Looks like Sony is serious about adding new "PSone Classics" to the PlayStation Store, as a few original PlayStation heavy hitters appear to be en route. The ESRB has rated five new PSone Classics candidates.  Just over a year ago at E3 2008, Microsoft announced it had secured Xbox 360/PC exclusivity for Fallout 3 downloadable content. |   A new App on the iPhone serves up details from the Steam community to your iPod Touch or phone. Gears includes three pages of information from Steam accounts for $3. The App has you type in a Steam nickname and then displays the user's avatar, location, online status and bi-weekly gameplay stats. Another page breaks down the user's friends and their current online status, which is updated automatically.  Hmm, let's see. The PSP is doing OK, but not great. The iPhone, now, it's doing great. |   Jack Black hams it up in the first of a series of live-action shorts promoting Brutal Legend, with a guest appearance by insane game developer Tim Schafer.I don't know about you, but for me it's gotten to the point where I prefer to see animated characters with Jack Black's voice over actually seeing Jack Black himself. I really dig his voice when he's singing, but there's something about his facial expressions when he acts that begs to be covered by a computer animated panda or video game roadie. |   Capcom isn't the only Japanese company that will have a more limited E3 presence than previously expected. Gamesindustry.biz is reporting that both Square Enix and Koei are also scaling back their presence at next month's show due to the swine flu outbreak."A limited number of executives/employees from Square Enix's headquarters in Japan will be attending E3 this year, given the recent worldwide spread of H1N1 flu," they said in a statement.  Several Japanese game companies have restricted employee travel to the United States for this year's E3. For Osaka-based game maker Capcom, the basis for this decision was "travel restrictions". The shiny Nintendo console was delivered to Buckingham Palace today as part of a marketing stunt meant to promote BIG Family Games, the latest title in THQ's BIG series. The game contains 24 classic family games, from lawn darts to bocce, which THQ product manager Danielle Robinson hopes the Royal Family will enjoy.  Not the first time this has been done, granted, but Komodo's Retro Adapter is certainly the most elegant way of using all your old Nintendo pads on the Wii. |   Following up yesterday's screens from Bizarre Creation's new weapon-based racer comes this teaser trailer, which demonstrates that good looks only get you so far in Blur.Teaser trailer? More like taser trailer. While the screenshots did an admirable job of showing off the game's graphics, I believe this teaser trailer captures the game's essence. This isn't your average pretty yet boring racing game. I'm a little worried about their overuse of electrical effects, but this is Bizarre Creations we are talking about, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt until I see more.  Bizarre Creations' Blur is "completely focused on making racing 'fun' again," according to its creators. You know the details, but do you know what Blur looks like? Well, it looks like this.  The second batch of downloadable content for Killzone 2 is due out next month, bringing two maps from the first Killzone to the PlayStation 3. Pangya is a free-to-play, microtransaction-based online game that banks on players purchasing new costumes and equipment for their adorable anime avatars. As Nintendo's ongoing success in the games industry proves, having the most powerful pixel processing hardware isn't everything when it comes to appealing to the mass market.  Terminator Salvation is now available on the PC, but for many, it's not quite playable. Over at the official forums, multiple reports have emerged of installation errors, with many unable to resolve the problem.  Wii owners will be getting Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis via the forthcoming Staff of Kings, but Xbox 360 owners may soon getting a classic LucasArts adventure of their own.

With around 15 minutes of animation to be included on the cart, and the game due in Japan later this year, Ghibli's work should have been by now...  If there are Pokémon planes, Pokémon X-ray machines and Pokémon beverages, then damn skippy there should be camping goods. There are. Later next month, a line "Pikanicamp" outdoor goods go on sale. Later next month, a line "Pikanicamp" outdoor goods go on sale. There are Pokémon Diamond/Pearl themed camping gear that includes chairs, mini-tables, flashlights, sunshades and leisure seats.  Pokémon has been around for a while now — since 1996. Maybe it's time to spice up the franchise with a little more action to the hugely successful role-playing-game franchise.  When cutesy monster series Pokémon was being prepped for the Western market, localizers told Nintendo this: No way will adorable monsters be accepted by Americans.

|   As an avid PC gamer, and a dedicated Steam user, few things grind my gears like delayed Steam releases. You know the kind. Game comes out on console, then PC, then Steam, weeks later. There are many publishers that, for some reason, do things this way. Even when it's just a PC game, the Steam release lags behind. Thankfully, Capcom should no longer one of "those" companies, promising to try a lot harder to give Steam users the same kind of service dished out to console gamers. Capcom's Chris Svensson:  The first episodic Watchmen game was awful. Which is probably why we've heard little of the second. Still, the game's publishers are soldiering on, and will be releasing the pair on a retail disc.  Thanks to the doubly good update for the Spy and Sniper classes, Team Fortress 2 will be playable for free this weekend to Steam users who for some bizarre reason wouldn't already have the game. |   An online survey from market research firm TNS Interactive quizzed folks not only about game purchasing habits, but also a proposed PSP rental service with subscription option. So... Who's up for renting PSP games via download service? Thanks NoBullet for the tip!  Ninokuni is a dream collaboration between Japanese developers Level 5 and anime craftsmen Studio Ghibli. And, because they are craftsmen, Ghibli are taking their sweet time on the game.  If there are Pokémon planes, Pokémon X-ray machines and Pokémon beverages, then damn skippy there should be camping goods. There are. Later next month, a line "Pikanicamp" outdoor goods go on sale.  It can be argued that many of Punch-Out's characters are big Nintendo names in their own right. Buuuuttt, eeehhh...they don't have the pulling power of, say, one of Nintendo's other characters.
