Honda Civic GX - click above for high-res image gallery We recently discussed the benefits and challenges of running a car on natural gas. Converted vehicles are the other option. Honda has begun producing the GX at its plant in Greensburg, Indiana, where it also makes the 4-cylinder Civic sedan. Before the move, Honda made about 1,000 copies of the GX each year in Ohio. More stories ...

Put out of its Missouri: State Legislature considers repealing motorcycle helmet law May 17, 2009 at 6:49 pm
Few issues out on the open road are as divisive as helmet laws for motorcycle riders. On the one hand, you have individual liberty advocates – many motorcyclists among them – insisting that the government can't tell riders what's best for them. On the other are safety advocates, armed with evidence of increased fatalities where helmets aren't mandatory. Now the Missouri state legislature has sent a bill to the governor that would, if signed into law, repeal the state's mandatory helmet regulations.

Brammo exec interview reveals Enertia TTR with warpaint May 17, 2009 at 8:59 am
While we've already had a couple glimpses of the the Enertia TTR, Brammo's TTXGP entry, scootin' along the highway, a photo taken during a recent Road Racer X interview with the company's chief cook and bottle washer, Craig Bramscher, gives a hint at the racer's possible appearance with its warpaint in full effect. Looks pretty nice and we don't even mind the little shout-out to sponsor and distributor, Best Buy. Thankfully, the green stripe seems present to add balance to the blue and yellow and not to shout, "Hey, look at me! I'm green and I'm green, get it?"

That's the reason enthusiasts shouldn't be concerned by GM's decision to drop a handful of performance models: the Cadillac STS-V, Chevrolet Impala SS, Cobalt SS, HHR SS and Pontiac G6 GXP. There are a variety of good reasons to let the cars go, and little reason to see this as the latest dire sign for GM's future. |
Look for some Pontiac bargains May 16, 2009 at 9:48 pm
Pontiac's demise could be good news for people looking for great deals on some very good and unappreciated cars. It also virtually guarantees some current and recent Pontiac models will become prized collector cars in the future. Cars that were underappreciated when new nearly always make for good deals as used cars. When a model or an entire brand is dropped, the values get even better.
