How's Killzone 2 Selling These Days?

April wasn't the best month for the U.S. video game industry, reflecting a drop in spending on things that weren't a Nintendo DSi or price reduced PlayStation 2. But how's Killzone 2 selling these days?

According to Gamasutra's monthly deeper dive into NPD Group sales figures, the answer is 58,000 copies last month. Good? Bad? Well, it's slower. We'll leave the ultimate judgment of whether that's a positive or negative for third month sales up to you.

Darksiders Preview: The War of God

I first saw Darksiders a year ago in the events leading up to E3 2008. At the time the game didn't impress me.

Darksiders: Wrath of War seemed an amalgam of action titles painted with such broad strokes that it rendered the game undeniably generic.

But what I saw this year of the game, renamed to just Darksiders, had enough polish, enough tweaks to help better define it as it's own game and make me want to play through it.

Meet The Spy's New Hand Cannon

Say hello to the Ambassador, the newest addition to the Team Fortress 2 Spy class' arsenal. What's unique about this new, unlockable pistol? It's big.

The Spy's third and final addition to his back of tricks "has the ammo count of a revolver and the pinpoint accuracy of a sniper rifle, even at long range" making the class with an eye for infiltration a little more useful at long distances. While seemingly more powerful than the Spy's pearl-handled standard issue revolver, expect a slower rate of fire, as today's Team Fortress 2 Spy update indicates a required cool-down period between shots.

Hi-Rez Studios Bringing Global Agenda To E3

Hi-Rez Studios is heading to E3 2009, yanking their action-oriented massively multiplayer game Global Agenda away from alpha testers long enough to give the convention going public a little taste.

E3 2009 will mark the first major public showing of the game, which has until now been shown off at the odd public charity event or via press appointments. This means a much larger audience will be getting their first taste of the game's intriguing mix of team-based shooter, role-playing game, and territory control strategy. Hopefully they'll be better at it than I've historically been.
