| Can We Expect More Ninja Gaiden Games? Can We? May 15, 2009 at 11:00 pm |
| When game designer Tomonobu Itagaki headed up Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden franchise, he stated that Ninja Gaiden II was the last title in the series. But the franchise isn't his anymore. New Team Ninja lead ninja Yosuke Hayashi hinted to website Kikizo that there very well could be more in store for Ninja Gaiden. "Regardless of what Itagaki-san said before," Hayashi said, "in time, what the consumers, the gamers are looking for is going to be the next chapter — the future of an outstanding series." |

| This summer The Brick Theater in Brooklyn, New York will debut Adventure Quest – a play built around PC adventure gaming of the 80s and early 90s. The production projects vintage game graphics onto the stage, uses 8-bit era music and an EGA color palette theme for set pieces and costumes. The story is about a generic Hero type who goes out to fight the dreaded Octopus Cult and win the love of a Peasant Girl. |

Electronic Arts has added first-person view brawling to the professional hockey sim. First person brawlers are few and far between—only a handful, like Condemned, Breakdown and Zeno Clash, have found some degree of success with their attempts—but that's not going to stop EA from letting you rain blows on the professional athlete of your choosing... |
| Mega Man Losing To The French In Robot Hall Of Fame Race May 15, 2009 at 8:00 pm |
| Mega Man is a man among robots, but is he spiffy enough to top a French robot built in 1810 that writes poetry for a spot in the Robot Hall of Fame? Capcom isn't completely sure and that's why they're asking their blog readers to go support their iconic blue-clad hero by voting for him on the Robot Hall of Fame's official site. The French robot, Maillardet's Automaton is currently ahead of Mega Man by 8% — but I'd say Dr. Wily's foe has much stiffer competition from Futurama's Bender and Invader Zim's Gir. | Don't forget! Tomorrow, the first batch of tickets for BlizzCon 2009 go on sale at the official Blizzard online store at 10 A.M. Pacific Time sharp. Let's hope Blizzard's web infrastructure can hold up. Given my close proximity to Irvine, I'd hate to see anyone bad happen, like Blizzard's web servers going nuclear. But it's a very real threat. Even at $125 a pop, BlizzCon tickets are likely going to be snapped up within minutes, if not seconds. So be prepared! |
| PSP | Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! What Did I Do to Deserve This? Hands-On May 15, 2009 at 7:15 pm |
| NIS America certainly knows how to pick them. We had the opportunity to play around with this dungeon-digging game, originally known as Yuusha no Kuse ni Namaikida Or 2, at the 2008 Tokyo Game Show and enjoyed it immensely. The retro visuals and simple gameplay were incredibly addictive, and now that we have a translated version with a tutorial, we've realized that it's a lot harder than we originally thought. The demos we played with at TGS weren't nearly this mind-boggling, so be prepared for a tough 8-bit challenge. More stories ... |

Rockstar's vague tweet claims, "details on 2nd episode of GTAIV downloadable content coming soon." Our Take: "Soon" is pretty relative, so it's hard to get real information out of the tweet. We assume this means Rockstar is either planning an unveiling at E3, or possibly getting ready to show it before E3 to make it playable on the show floor from the outset. Either way, we'll know who this expansion stars within a few weeks. More stories ... |
| The Sims 3 iPhone Speaks To The Trees May 15, 2009 at 11:20 am |
| Talking to tall fir trees is just one of the many exciting activities planned for the iPhone version of The Sims 3. Judging by the latest set of screenshots for the smaller, touch-enable version of the latest installment of The Sims, you can also barge into people's houses and kick over trash cans. That certainly explains the late 80's punk hairstyle and outfit being shown off in the character creator screen. I think the point EA is trying to make here is that just because you are playing The Sims 3 on the ever-so-trendy iPhone doesn't mean you still can't rage against the machine. More stories ... |

| Nintendo Responds To April NPD Sales, Seems Pleased May 15, 2009 at 5:30 am |
| As we've seen, while they tried to put a brave face on, April was fairly forgettable for Microsoft and Sony. But Nintendo? Well, Nintendo have something to crow about. The DS alone sold over a million, outselling every other competitor's console, portable and handheld, combined, with the new DSi contributing a mighty 827,000 of those sales. That tally set a new all-time record for April hardware sales in the US. |

| Microsoft Responds To April NPD Sales, Seems Pleased May 15, 2009 at 4:30 am |
| April 2009 was down on April 2008, across the board. Cause for concern, yes? Not if you're Microsoft, who are just pumped at the Xbox 360's "rate of growth" and "resilience". The 175,000 Xbox 360s sold in April represents a drop of 7% from this time last year, leaving the company to try and focus on things like the fact that "Xbox 360 sales were up 28 percent year-on-year in the first four months of 2009" and that some of the most popular 360 titles for the month included Godfather II and, uh, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. |

| Sony Responds To April NPD Sales, Seems Pleased May 15, 2009 at 3:30 am |
| With their consoles occupying the bottom three spaces on April's hardware charts, and sales down across the board, you'd think it would be tough seeing the bright side of life for Sony. For you and me, it would be. While a drop to $99 spurred the old PS2 into life, resulting in a handy 38% increase in sales, PS3 sales were down a whopping 32% from April 2008, and PSP sales were even worse, down 39%. | |
